Birmingham Children's Theatre
2018-2019 General Auditions

Birmingham Children’s Theatre will be holding general season auditions for the 2018/2019 season on Monday, February 26th from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Saturday, March 3rd from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Birmingham Children’s Theatre. Callbacks will be held at a later date.

Actors should prepare a 60-90 second memorized monologue. Singers should also prepare 16 bars of musical theatre song. Accompanist Provided.

PLEASE NOTE: Birmingham Children’s Theatre is a professional adult theatre company that serves families and schools. All positions are paid.  Rehearsals and performances are held during daytime hours.* School tours may include overnight trips outside of the Jefferson county area. 

*THE THREE MUSKETEERS summer production will rehearse and perform in the evenings

Auditions are for adult actors only. Auditions for children may be held separately at a later date.

Who: Birmingham Children’s Theatre

What: Seeking Adult Actors for over 60 roles for Birmingham Children’s Theatre 2018-2019 Season!

When: MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH from 3 PM to 8 PM &SATURDAY, MARCH 3RD from 12 PM to 5 PM

Where: All Auditions will be held in the Birmingham Children’s Theatre’s rehearsal hall. Park on 19th Street North, enter the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center and come down the large set of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, take a left and come to “Stage Door 2/Birmingham Children’s Theatre Production Offices”. Signs will be posted to point the way.

What to Bring/Prepare:

  • A 60-90 second memorized monologue
  • If you sing, 16 bars (approximately 30 seconds) of a musical theatre song; Accompanist Provided
  • Headshot and resume

Birmingham Children's Theatre hires actors through local and video auditions, as well as attending the Southeastern Theatre Conference each year. Local auditions will be posted to this page when available. You must be 18 years or older to be compensated as an actor.

Students are welcome to audition for our season as well, but must be available during school hours for rehearsals and performances. Youth auditions will be listed separately. If you would like to be added to a mailing list for upcoming youth auditions, please send an email to bctauditions@gmail.com with the subject line "YOUTH AUDITIONS."

BCT also accepts video submissions. Please send a 60-90 second memorized monologue of your choice and 16 bars of a musical theatre song along with your headshot and resume to bctauditions@gmail.com
