The Best Christmas Pageant Ever Audition Information:

BCT is happy to announce an OPEN CASTING CALL on Saturday, August 28 at 10:00am for ALL CHILDREN'S ROLES in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, to be performed November 29 - December 17, 2010 on the BCT Mainstage. Check-in will begin at 9:00am at the BCT Theatre backstage door.

When: 10:00am on Sat, August 28th

Where: BJCC complex downtown in the Theatre (The home of Birmingham Children’s Theatre). Park on 19th St N between 9th and 11th Ave. Enter on the 19th street entrance. Come down the large flight of stairs and take a left at the bottom. Go up a very small flight of stairs and into a black double door. Someone will be there to greet you.

What to bring:

  • 16 bars of sheet music (memorized- pianist will be provided so please bring them the sheet music). If you do not have any sheet music, please know the first verse and chorus of “Joy to the World”.

  • Memorized 60 second monologue

  • Headshot/resume

  • Full list of conflicts (including weekends) From Nov 3rd- Dec 18th

  • $5.00 processing fee (per child)*

*PARENTS: If your child was a part of BCT’s Academy (September 2009-September 2010), there is NO FEE for auditioning as we have most of your information on file. If your child was not involved with BCT’s workshop within the past year, a $5.00 per child processing fee will be charged at the door. This can be paid to the monitor in cash or check. You will receive a receipt immediately.

Also note that BCT’s rehearsals for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever will be 12:30pm-4:30pm from November 3 - 23 with a rehearsal at 2:00pm on November 28. We will be off Nov 24, 25, 26, 27 for Thanksgiving. School (weekday) performances will be at 10:00am and 12:00pm, Monday-Friday, November 30 - December 18. Family Day performance calls will be at 1:00pm (for a 2:00 show) on Sunday, December 5 and Saturday, December 11. We will also have a 6:00pm show on Saturday, December 11.

ADULT ACTORS who auditioned on May 1:

All of the roles in The Frog Prince have been finalized. All roles in Zorro have been finalized. All roles in New Shoes For Christmas have been finalized. Please email Leah Luker if you are interested in a role in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Dane Peterson and I will review your profile and we will call you if we need to see you read. Casting may not be complete on this project until September, so please do not get discouraged if I have yet to contact you. Adults who did not audition with BCT and wish to, please send an email request to Leah Luker and we will attempt to accommodate you.

AUDITIONS FOR CHILDREN 4 TO 18:
Children Auditioning must be available during weekdays to rehearse and perform. BCT accepts auditions from both Home School children and public school children. Public School children MUST obtain permission from their administrators to miss school during the rehearsal period and run of the show.  Please call 205-458-8193 or email Leah Luker for more information and to set up and audition!
