Birmingham Children's Theatre announces open audition information for the following upcoming productions:
Adult Auditions for Spring 2012 Productions
BCT is currently seeking a Young Artist to play "Alice" in our upcoming production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Artist must appear to be a 9-10 year old girl.
When: Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00am
What to Bring: Please bring a Headshot or color picture and Resume. Be prepared to present this monologue, and to learn a short dance/movement piece. Warm up and changing areas will be available. Please download full annoucement here.
Rehearsal/Performance Requirements: Rehearsal and performance schedules vary for each show, please contact Leah Luker (205-458-8193) for details. All rehearsals at BCT are held during the day (9:00am-5:00pm) in 4 to 5 hour blocks. All productions are performed on weekday mornings along with two Saturday performances during the run. For this production:
- Day Rehearsals March 19 through April 9, 2012
- Day Performances April 10 through May 4, 2012
Where: Birmingham Children’s Theatre Rehearsal Hall. Birmingham Children’s Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Birmingham, AL in the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex. Park on 19th Street North between 9th Ave N and 11th Ave N. Come into the Convention Complex and proceed down the large staircase. At the bottom of the staircase, take a left and you will see a small staircase leading up to a black double door that reads “Backstage Door Number 2 Birmingham Children’s Theatre Production Offices”. Come through these doors and a monitor will assist you.

Missed an Audition Date?
Adult Actors interested in BCT who have missed the audition date, or are between audition dates, may still submit information to be included on our mailing list for audition announcements. Please submit your name, date of birth, address, home/cell phone number, and email to Leah Luker via email. Please also attach your resume and headshot. Audtions for Children 4 to 18
Children Auditioning must be available during weekdays to rehearse and perform. BCT accepts auditions from both Home School children and public school children. Public School children MUST obtain permission from their administrators to miss school during the rehearsal period and run of the show.
