On Tour
BCT On Tour is the touring division of Birmingham Children’s Theatre, one of the nation’s oldest and largest professional theatres for young audiences. Each year, BCT On Tour brings the magic of theatre to thousands of children and families across the country, from Mississippi to Manhattan, Nebraska to North Carolina. As one of the largest touring children’s theatre’s in the country, BCT produces national tours each season in two series: the Mainstage Series productions offer shows for students in grades 2-8 while our Wee Folks Series productions are designed for the youngest of theatergoers in Preschool through 2nd grade. From our unique Study Guide Live! to comprehensive master classes, BCT also offers exciting educational residency activities for students in preschool through college, and our innovative professional development programs are designed specifically for educators and arts professionals.
By the end of the 2011-2012 season, more than 100 tours played to more than 2 million children. BCT travels anywhere there is an audience seeking the best in theatre for young audiences, from the largest performing arts center to the smallest school.
