Birmingham Children’s Theatre is holding auditions for its 2025 - 2026 Spring Season

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama  (LOCAL HIRE ONLY) All positions are Paid.
Birmingham Children’s Theatre is auditioning performers aged 18+ for our 2025 - 2026 Spring Season. Contracts will be offered for individual shows.

Most roles in BCT’s season are available for performers of all genders, ethnicities, and abilities. BCT celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for artists that represent a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. Actors from all communities are strongly encouraged to submit. 

Rehearsals and performances take place Tuesdays – Saturdays between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm, typically in 4 to 5 hour sessions. Daytime availability is a must. The production time commitment is 8 to 16 weeks, depending on the show.

In Person Auditions will be held at Birmingham Children’s Theatre on Monday, November 17th, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Please prepare a 60-90 second audition package consisting of a monologue and a song. We are looking for performers with a keen sense of play; and the ability to interact and improvise with audience members. While your audition piece does not have to be from a TYA show specifically, monologues should be comedic and show the energy, boldness, and bigness required for effective Theatre for Young Audiences performance.  Callbacks will be held on a later date by invitation only.

Birmingham Children’s Theatre performs in-house at the BJCC in downtown Birmingham and on-tour throughout the southeast for children aged 0-18 and their families. BCT’s productions are divided into three series: MainStage, Wee Folks, and Theatre for the Very Young (TVY). Wee Folks and TVY shows have an accompanying tour. Birmingham Children's Theatre hires actors through local and video auditions, as well as attending the Southeastern Theatre Conference each year. Local auditions will be posted to this page when available. You must be 18 years or older to be compensated as an actor.

Students are welcome to audition for our season as well, but must be available during school hours for rehearsals and performances. Youth auditions will be listed separately.
