At Birmingham Children's Theatre, we are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming space where every child and family can experience the magic of live theatre. Our accessibility initiatives ensure that all guests, regardless of ability, can fully enjoy our performances and facilities.

ASL-Interpreted Performances

We offer select performances with American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation to make our productions accessible to Deaf and Hard of Hearing audience members. These performances feature skilled interpreters who bring the dialogue and songs to life, ensuring a fully immersive experience. Please check our schedule for upcoming ASL-interpreted shows.

Partnering with KultureCity

We are proud partners with KultureCity, an organization dedicated to creating sensory-inclusive experiences.

Our staff is trained to accommodate individuals with sensory needs, ensuring a supportive and understanding environment for all guests.

Sensory Rooms & Resources

For guests with sensory sensitivities, we provide designated sensory-friendly spaces equipped with comfortable seating, noise-reducing headphones, and other calming resources.

Sensory kits from KULTURECITY are also available upon request at our box office.

NURSERY ROOMS

We understand that little ones may need a quiet space during performances.

Our nursery rooms offer a comfortable environment for parents and caregivers to attend to young children while still enjoying the show.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Birmingham Children's Theatre is fully wheelchair accessible. We offer:

  • Accessible seating in our performance spaces

  • Wheelchair-friendly entrances and restrooms

  • Assistance upon request to ensure a smooth and comfortable visit

The main entrance located off the BJCC Green is an accessible entrance into the BJCC Theatre.
Drivers may drop off or pick up passengers with mobility issues at the 19th St N. circle (Please Note: this is not a parking location)
