Birmingham Children’s Theatre is seeking Middle Eastern/Arab actors
for a new play development workshop and staged reading.

BIRMINGHAM, AL Birmingham Children's Theatre is casting a staged reading of a new script in development that centers on Middle Eastern/Arab characters and stories, and we are seeking actors of Middle Eastern or Arab descent to authentically represent these roles.This is a workshop-style reading intended to help the creative team further refine the script through live performance and feedback.

All positions are Paid. Travel and housing accommodations can be provided for actors outside of the Central Alabama/Birmingham area.

Performances for the staged reading will take place at Birmingham Children's Theatre in downtown Birmingham, Alabama in the month of September. The tentative performance dates are Friday, September 26th, and Saturday, September 27th, 2025.

To be considered, please submit a dramatic and comedic monologue video (4 minutes or less total) and your acting resume to auditions@bct123.org no later than August 20th.

Birmingham Children's Theatre hires actors through local and video auditions, as well as attending the Southeastern Theatre Conference each year. Local auditions will be posted to this page when available. You must be 18 years or older to be compensated as an actor.

Students are welcome to audition for our season as well, but must be available during school hours for rehearsals and performances. Youth auditions will be listed separately.
