Birmingham Children’s Theatre, one of the nation’s oldest and largest professional theatre companies for young audiences, offers performing arts camps for children of all ages. BCT’s Summer Camps are an excellent way for youth ages 4 to 18 to collaborate with other campers and learn skills that will benefit them in the classroom and beyond.

Imagination Party for ages 4-6
Players Studio for ages 8-14
Players Lab Playwriting & Stagecraft 13-18

Age ranges for our programs are suggested based on general readiness and experience. However, we understand that each child is unique, and we are happy to discuss adjustments based on your child’s specific needs, abilities, and experience level. These engaging one-week, half-day camps with sessions in June and July help kids develop confidence, creativity, and key social skills — all while having a blast!
One week, half-day camps (9am - 12pm) for ages 4-6

BCT’s Players Studio is the perfect place for young performers to shine—whether they’re just starting out or ready to take their talents to the next level!
At the Players Studio each child is encouraged to discover new interests, express themselves creatively, and build unique talents in a fun, supportive setting.
Two week, full-day camps (9am - 4pm) for ages 7-10
3 sessions available throughout June & July
Unlock your creativity this summer with BCT's Players Lab!
In the Playwriting Players Lab campers will craft original scenes, exploring character development, dialogue, and storytelling techniques. By the end of the week, they'll showcase their creations in a live performance.
Monday, June 2nd - Friday, June 7th. For ages 13-18
In the Stagecraft Players Lab participants will dive into the technical side of theatre, learning lighting, sound, set design, and prop creation. Players Lab is the perfect place to sharpen your skills and unleash your imagination!
Monday, July 14th - Friday, July 18th. For ages 13-18
BCT's Summer Youth Production will take you on a magical adventure through time and space in this imaginative stage adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle’s beloved novel! When Meg Murry’s scientist father goes missing, she embarks on a journey across dimensions with her brother Charles Wallace and friend Calvin, guided by mysterious celestial beings. Together, they confront darkness, discover inner strength, and learn that love is the most powerful force of all.
Month long session (June 9th - July 12th)
Great for ages 11 - 18
All students registered will be cast.
